Black spiders of memory
Creep across the ceiling
As the heat sludges over the windowsill
Consuming the floor in its fall.

Outside, the singing stars,
Backed by the celestial spheres orchestra,
Cannot reach me through a space
Stripped of a lifetime of dreams.
The white noise of my thoughts
(Complete with hospital corners…
