A Morning in the Oltrarno

I sat by the window with my freshly brewed coffee, and started to write. From outside came the call of birds.

Staying in the Oltrarno — or ‘other side of the Arno’ ifeels like an escape from the delightful chaos of touristy Florence. Trees with springtime blossom are everywhere — indeed, at times the air is so fill of drifting petals I feel as if it is snowing. Down the road from where I’m staying is a small junction…
